Making the next generation a priority

The future of paddlesports depends directly on our ability to attract children and teenagers. In recent years, a number of initiatives have emerged: dedicated programs, youth-focused events such as Palm Groms & Park Jam and the Peak Challenge, new coaching approaches and equipment designed specifically for younger paddlers.

Which initiatives are really working? What results have they achieved? Should brands invest more in equipment genuinely designed around the needs of children and teenagers? Are price, sizing and access to suitable equipment still barriers to participation? And how can paddle sports become more attractive to young people when competing with so many other outdoor sports and activities?

Built around three key pillars — Gear / Events / Programs — this conversation explores the initiatives that can bring a new generation onto the water and, crucially, keep them paddling.

Speakers: Paul Robertson (Palm Equipment), David Bain (Pyranha Kayaks), Pete Astle (Peak PS), Jutta Kaiser (Paddle People), Mira Kodada (Joy Kayaks)
