ICF Slalom World Championships, Oklahoma City, USA

The 2026 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships are underway in Oklahoma City, United States, at the Riversport OKC Whitewater Center, the venue set to host canoe slalom competition during the LA28 Olympic Games. With the world’s best paddlers competing on a challenging course, the championships have already produced several standout performances.

In the women’s K1 final, Australia’s Jessica Fox continued her remarkable return to the top of the sport by winning gold in 92.06 seconds. The three-time Olympic champion missed last year’s World Championships while recovering from kidney surgery but has returned in dominant form with three gold medals this week (Women’s kayak cross individual time trial and women’s K1 team). American paddler Evy Leibfarth delighted the home crowd by taking silver. Great Britain’s Kimberley Woods claimed bronze.

In the men’s K1 final, Czechia’s Jakub Krejci claimed his first senior world title after an outstanding run of 83.65 seconds. Poland’s Michal Pasiut earned silver, 0.69 seconds behind, while Italy’s Olympic champion Giovanni De Gennaro secured bronze.
