The ICF canoe freestyle World Cup in Millau finished with a bang! Under a burning sun, finals took place on Saturday 27th June, and once again, the paddlers delivered. Everyone battled it out until the very last second while the crowd lining the riverbank was ecstatic. What a great show it was. Congratulations to all the medalists!

The morning started with Squirt Boating, with Alex Edwards (GBR) and Ottilie Robinson-Shaw (GBR) taking home gold. That was followed by an unofficial Masters event and a Cadets Freestyle Jam Session, with more than 10 young paddlers sharing the wave together in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

As the competition continued, the surface events delivered some of the biggest scores of the weekend. In Men’s Kayak Surface, Ben Higson (GBR) claimed gold ahead of Harry Price (GBR) and Tomasz Czaplicki (POL). Higson’s third ride in the final produced a staggering 1,816.67 points, the highest scoring ride of the entire weekend and one that had the crowd buzzing.

In Women’s Canoe Decked Surface, Ottilie Robinson-Shaw topped the podium ahead of Zofia Tula (POL) and Anica Schacher (GER). Robinson-Shaw’s dominance then continued in Women’s Kayak Surface, where she took a second gold medal ahead of Leah Hough (IRL) and Zofia Tula. Three events, three gold medals, and a standout performance across every discipline she entered.

France’s Tom Dolle took gold in Men’s Canoe Decked Surface, with Harry Price earning his second medal of the day in silver and Jean-Yves Moustrou (FRA) taking bronze. The junior categories showcased the next generation of talent. Mary Claire Hargrove (USA) won Women’s Kayak Surface Junior ahead of Maja Kawczynska (POL) and Marie Dimke (GER), while Jake Bermingham (IRL) claimed gold in Men’s Kayak Surface Junior ahead of Marc Silva Fores (ESP) and Lukas Ramsayer (GER).
