Saturday September 10th will see the 5th edition of the Derby du Veneon in la Bérarde (near Grenoble,France); The race consist in a team race of 3 paddlers in the heart of one of the most pristine and preserved valley of the Alps.
While the race takes place on Saturday, Sunday will be there to both recover from the party for some, but also paddle all 3 sections of the Veneon: rafting section (Class 3), Race Section (Class 4) and Gorge Section (Class 5).
It is clearly one of the most beautiful river in Europe, yet quite unknown for most. The concept to race as a team not only comes with a different feel, but also secures a better safety operation; just like if you go boating on a regular day with your friends…
Two event in one: Slalom in the morning, Long Race in the afternoon, major league open air party in the evening.
Organizers keep this event on the grass root level with all sorts of things to do for boaters and non boaters alike!
