Malabar River Festival 2017 (India) July 20-23rd

We are pleased to announce that the Malabar River Festival returns for it’s 5^th edition and will be held from July 20-23^rd. The highly successful festival has become the highlight of the whitewater calendar in Asia and with the prediction of an early monsoon we are expecting some sweet water levels that are perfect for racing.

This year we are extending the competition to 4 days in order to include the hugely popular freestyle competition. As is always the case, there is a going to be loads of prize money to be won, in excess of USD 10,000 and a big Kerala style party awaits all those lucky enough to make it to Kerala for the festival.

The other events at the festival will be Giant Slalom, BoaterX and the downriver challenge. In addition to that we will also have separate set of events for the intermediate paddlers along with a fun downriver race.

Kerala still has plenty of undiscovered whitewater, coupled with the set of classics such as the Iruvanjhipuzha, upper – Chalipuzha and the newly discovered Kuppam river, there is plenty of exciting stuff to keep paddlers occupied for multiple weeks.
