FutaXL 2016 – Downriver Race
70+ kayakers lined up on the banks of the Rio Futaleufú in Southern Chile to compete in a downriver race down 7 kilometers of class IV big water. The event was part of the Futaleufú XL, organized by Marcos Gallegos, to bring both the local communities, as well as the whitewater community together in order to celebrate one of the most beautiful rivers in the world.

Rivers like the Rio Futaleufú are constantly under threat of hydroelectric development and unless there are people willing to fight for these wild places, we will lose them forever.
