REEL WORLD Vol.7 – #33 Eirik Hansen (Norway)
Follow Eirik Hansen throughout 2022: « I don’t know how many times in 2022 i said: « Thats the biggest stuff ever, holy shit thats so sick or this has got to be the best day ever ». This has been my biggest year of kayaking yet, logging countless hours on the rivers of the world. I started out in the frosty norwegian spring season, before escaping to Turkey`s south coast in April. Then a huge Norwegian huckfest of a season came as the snow was melting on the mountains. A dream came true for me as I raced for Norway in the finals of the world championship. In August i went on a pilgrimage to visit one of the true wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon of the Stikine, and spent a month in the BC wilderness. The grand finale for me was a two month long expedition in India. Travelling from the hot jungle creeking in Meghalaya to the Himalayan bigwater in Arunachal Pradesh was a true adventure that tested us all. In memory of the good days, the sunshine laps, the loss and the gifts we shared in 2022. As we say in my country: Takk for turen! »
