Pat Keller, Hyperflow – (Entry #42 Short Film of the Year Awards 2016)

We all know of the emotional journey that begins the moment you decide to tackle a challenge, that ends in a completely different place once you’ve accomplished your goal – achieving a state of flow. But this journey is difficult to capture and convey to others. Filmmakers slice and dice footage to shreds, slow it down, speed it up, conduct interviews… you name it, all in an attempt to tell the story of what one feels when you take that leap of faith. Here, kayaker Pat Keller with filmmaker Steve Fisher have attempted to tell this story with no talking, no slo-mo’s, and no cuts… just one single on-board shot from the moment Pat climbs into his kayak, until after he exits at the bottom of the drop.
