2025 Palm & Pyranha Park Jam Tour: Weekend 1

The first weekend of the Palm and Pyranha Park jam tour has been a whirlwind, from London to Wales finishing in Glasgow, Scotland the team has traveled and paddled with so many different paddlers across the UK in just three days. While they rest up in sunny Scotland, ready for the second weekend tour, we talked to the team to get an insight into how the first weekend went down.

Kabob Grady flew in ahead of the UK leg of the tour. Having seen the impact a single Park Jam stop made on the community in Ireland last year, he was excited to join the full 2025 tour. When asked about his first weekend, he said, “In my first weekend at Park Jam, it was immediately clear why this tour and these events mean so much to the Groms and their local communities. I’m really grateful to join, share the stoke, enjoy the shenanigans, and connect with paddlers of all ages across the UK. Looking forward to weekend number two!”

New to the Palm Equipment team, Zack Mutton reflects: “It’s been a pleasure to revisit the motherland and meet so many new paddlers. It’s amazing to see the level of talent coming out of the UK. Being part of young paddlers’ journeys from the start is really special, and it’s exciting to think that in ten years’ time I might be paddling with some of them around the world on wild missions. When I was ten, there were people in the kayaking community who made a huge impact on my life and started many meaningful friendships. I hope some of these moments spark the same for the next generation. I love the Palm initiative for keeping this event going, supporting the community, and bringing it all to life.”

Heidi Walsh has been nonstop touring around the world, both on her own adventures and through her new job with World Class Academy. She says, “Park Jam is always an epic tour. Especially now that I live so far away, it’s great to come back, see everyone, and watch the whitewater parks thriving. It’s like a family reunion with the team every year.”

The team are now hanging out in Scotland, lapping the dam-release rivers and recharging their batteries. Adrian Mattern has just flown in a few days before the final weekend of Park Jam begins. “For me, this is a full-circle moment,” he says. “Receiving so much support growing up and now being in a position to give back to the next generation is what keeps the sport alive. I’m excited to see familiar faces from last year, meet new people, and join the stoke. See you out there.”

There’s still time to get involved and join the Park Jam Tour in the UK. Two stops remain this weekend: Saturday, October 18, at Teesside White Water Centre, and Sunday, October 19, at Cardiff International White Water.
