2023 Paddlers Awards Winners – Clay Wright, Paddling Legend
The first award we are handing out is one to celebrate. We are stoked to announce Clay Wright as 2023 Legend Paddler of the Year.
Is anyone out there more passionate about whitewater than Clay Wright? Hard to say and even harder to find. For the past 40+ years, Clay has been ripping in every discipline, mentoring, coaching, judging, shaping, advocating, and enjoying the whitewater lifestyle. At age 56, Clay is still on the river more days than not, competing, throwing down, and working to improve. His approach and never-ending dedication to being his best while helping others be their best is the mark of a true champion, and he isn’t stopping any time soon. When it comes down to a « Legend » award, Clay epitomizes what we think this award is all about. Thanks, Clay Wright, for being such an amazing athlete, friend, mentor, and advocate of our sport. You’re a legend.
