2022 Paddlers Awards Winners – Ríos to Rivers, Non Profit Category.
The 2022 Paddlers Awards winner in the Non profit category goes to Ríos to Rivers! Ríos to Rivers inspires the protection of rivers worldwide by investing in underserved and indigenous youth and supporting their development as the next generation of environmental stewards. This year, their 10th, Ríos to Rivers took their UnDam the UN campaign to the 2022 Climate Change Conference, where they used their experiences to advocate for cultural and biodiversity on the global stage and asked the UN to stop recognizing dams as clean energy. They also ran programs in Chile, Bolivia, and the United States, getting youth out on the water and empowering communities to fight for the preservation of rivers worldwide.
