Last Call: Do You Love to Spend Time on the Water?
by Brook Sutton

Apply Now to Attend the Outdoor Nation Youth Summit

On June 19-20, 2010, up to 500 young leaders will gather in New York City to celebrate and champion an active, outdoor lifestyle, and Confluence Watersports wants to send you. You may know us better as Dagger, Wave Sport, Perception, Wilderness Systems or Mad River Canoe. Just like you, we have different interests and paddle different boats; but our love for being on the water unifies our family of brands. If you share the love of paddlesports and of the outdoors, we want to send you to New York City.
As delegates to the first ever Outdoor Nation Youth Summit and Festival in Central Park, NYC, young adults (ages 18-26) from across the country will have a platform to influence outdoor policy and create solutions to the inactivity and lack of nature-driven activities that are plaguing the health of the country. Confluence is sponsoring five delegates to the Summit. This is your call to action and door to opportunity.
The Summit is a chance to share ideas, ask questions, offer solutions and to network with other individuals who want to make a difference. Key topics will include: green jobs, health and wellness, diversity, service, recreation, education, media and culture. Ideas and solutions generated at the Summit will not be lost to good intentions. Members of the Obama administration are slated to attend, as well as local government officials and multiple outdoor industry gear manufacturers. After the Summit, the Confluence delegates will be valued members of our brands’ advisory councils, with your input integrated into our broader strategy.
We are offering a $1250 grant to one of our five delegates to put their ideas in motion in their own community. Only our delegates will be eligible to apply for the for the grant, so get your application in today to represent Confluence at the Youth Summit.
If you’re selected as one of our five delegates, you will receive airfare and lodging for the Summit, and be eligible to apply for the $1250 grant. You must be motivated, a champion of the outdoors, and be between 18-26 years of age (under 18 considered with a chaperone).
If this is you, apply at: www.paddlesportsnation.com.
Deadline: MAY 24, 2010.
