Modi Express International Kayak Championship2017 (Nepal), Dec 1st/3rd 2017

Whitewater legend Anup Gurung and the NKCC (Nepal Kayak and Canoe Club) are back with another event being run on a river about to disapear due to a dam construction: the Modi Khola. It is one of the last chance to run this river so if you are in Nepal or plan to go, make sure not to miss this really cool event, on one of Nepal’s most beautiful river!

The Modi Khola runs through the Annapurna Conservation Area. The Modi Khola is a beauty that offers a non stop grade 4/5 run and we would hate to loose the opportunity to run one last event on this river. 2017 is the year for NKCC (Nepal Kayak and Canoe Club) and we are proud to present the Modi Khola Express Modi Express International Kayak Championship2017 (Nepal), Dec 1st/3rd 2017 in collaboration with local canyoning association of the area.

This event will attract both local and international participants, with scores of spectators from various adventure sports. This will be the 3rd extreme kayak championship the NKCC will run. Our past two championships where held on the most iconic section of the rivers that is no longer running. Bhote Koshi & Marshyangdi. With this being the case paddlers from across the globe get a final chance to get together and paddle these beautiful sections of rivers that will soon be no more. This year we have once again chosen a river that has a power plant in the development process and will very soon dry out.
