In the following articles you will find everything athletes and officials need to know in order to register, find accommodation, and get directions, as well as contact directly the organizers of the three events.
In August 2008, the second ever World Cup Tour will take place in central Europe. The three-weekend competition will start in Prague, Czech Republic. It will then move 5 hours west to Germany’s Augsburg and then have its final weekend in Thun, in the beautiful mountains of the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. Throughout the last 15 years, all 3 venues have been hosting several whitewater freestyle events including Eurocups, Nationals, and European and World Championships.
The three cities hosting the World Cup offer participants a wonderful look into European history and culture: The rest day off water can be spent sight seeing as the old town centers have numerous historic sights, bars and shopping possibilities.
Additional playboating spots exist on the way from one World Cup site to the next:
Between Prague and Augsburg: Plattling and Munich/Isar wave/hole
Between Augsburg and Thun: Bremgarten, Reuss wave
There are also plenty of rivers to run in Austria and Switzerland.
