Inside UNLEASHED x Uganda (Jan 5th-13th) – Schedule
We are extremely proud and happy to announce our renewed collaboration with the SEND crew for the coverage of the second Unleashed event – Unleashed x Uganda – taking place on the White Nile Jan 5-13th.

« In the spring of 2017 an event was created to pit some of the worlds best kayakers against each other on some of the world’s biggest white water with the goal provide an answer to « who is the best all around whitewater kayaker in the world? »
In it’s second iteration UNLEASHED journeys to the legendary White Nile. The Nile is home to big waves, humongous rapids and has long been one of kayaking’s best known and loved stomping grounds. UNLEASHED x Uganada will be a four stage event, consisting of two big wave freestyle events and two Xtrem races. The competition will aim to hold stages of the event on rapids that are rarely descended, let alone competed on. Competitors won’t know what rapids they will be competing on until the event begins on January 5th.

Defending champion Dane Jackson (Usa) will be tough to beat but several people are chomping at the bit to do it. Recently crowned ICF Freestyle world champion Quim Fontanne (Catalunya) will be in attendance as well as several other international big names such as Kalob Grady (Canada) , Tom Dolle (France), Adrian Mattern (Germany), Bren Orton (Uk) and LP Rivest (Quebec) aka The Wolf. Local Ugandan kayakers Yusuf Basalirwa will also be competing at this event and will be hard to beat on their home grounds.
In the women’s category, Darby Mcadams (Usa) will be looking to defend her title against Katie Kowalski (Canada). and UNLEASHED new comer Aoife Hanarahn (Ireland).

The stage is set for one of the most progressive events in kayaking to happen and we are all excited to see what will happen at UNLEASHED x Uganda. «
