Jackson Kayak's newest boat promises to be even more Fun

2010 Fun is out in time for Christmas
The third edition of Jackson Kayak’s best selling model of whitewater boats lives up to its name in delivering fun.
The 2010 Fun continues to improve on the core attributes that make this boat as enjoyable downriver as it is at play. While it is an inch shorter than the two previous editions of the model, the boat has a more rounded, less boxy and slicier shape that makes it faster downriver and surfing on waves.
The cross sections of the new Fun were changed from a “flat top” to a “symmetrical wing” at the bow and stern making the boat play better, squirt better and even do what the Fun has a reputation for doing better than any other boat on the market, rolling.
Softer, rounder, edges make it less likely to catch an edge and easier to stay upright.
The bow and stern have been lifted higher out of the water making for easier peelouts and ferries as well as improved carrying speed through harder moves.
“David Knight and I took a lot of the design concepts that proved successful for river running in the Star series and blended them into the Fun, “ said Jackson Kayak founder Eric “EJ” Jackson.
Judging by the huge smiles and gushing praise, the 2010 Fun enjoyed an enthusiastic reception among consumers during an unannounced sneak preview demo of the boat at this fall’s Gauley Fest.
The mid-sized Fun, best for boaters in the 135-180-pound weight range, is 6’5” long, 55.5 gallons and weighs just 29 pounds. The 2010 Fun is also available in the smaller 2Fun and larger 4Fun sizes. Kid-sized Fun 1 and 1.5 and mega-sized Super Fun remain unchanged.
The standard, superlinear plastic versions in traditional and mixed colors with standard foam outfitting are priced at $1049 and include a one-year warranty. For battleship caliber protection on and off the river, and sweet cheeks/happy feet/composite beam outfitting the crosslink plastic versions, aka Elite Fun are available for $1199 with a two-year warranty.
